Milwaukee County Sheriff Clarke keeps recording radio spots

He also keeps billing the taxpayers for them:

Records show Clarke’s office has agreed to purchase $9,400 worth of air time for his radio spot encouraging citizens to surprise their attackers and to be “ruthless” in their response. The records were released in response to an open records request.

Police departments ponder when to allow officers to shoot at moving cars

Hard decisions:

In Milwaukee, officers may still fire if they believe the driver is trying to run them over. However, officers here are not allowed to shoot simply to prevent someone from fleeing. That policy was re-emphasized in 2005, after a Journal Sentinel investigation found about two dozen people had been shot while driving away from police over two decades.

Senate Dems seek criminal investigation of Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation

Three Senate Democrats plan to ask for a criminal investigation of Gov. Scott Walker’s signature job creation agency.

The planned request comes after an audit last month found the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. didn’t require financial statements from companies receiving incentives, gave awards to ineligible businesses and awarded nearly $1 million in tax credits to companies for actions taken before they had signed their contracts with the state. The agency didn’t adequately follow up to see if jobs were being created and didn’t clearly report the jobs numbers that it did have, the report by the non-partisan Legislative Audit Bureau found.
