Those responsible should be sacked.
A Journal Sentinel investigation found the agency ran an operation for 10 months in 2012 marred by mistakes and failures. Guns were stolen from an agent’s car, burglars made off with $35,000 in merchandise from the store, agents left a sensitive document at the store when they closed the storefront and in at least three cases the wrong person was charged. In one case, the ATF sought charges against a man who was in prison at the time – on an earlier ATF case.
