The crowd was estimated at 2,000, said Jocelyn Webster, spokeswoman for the state Department of Administration.
The number was lower than last year in the midst of mass protests over Walker’s agenda when about 6,500 conservatives and counter-protesters heard speakers including former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
This year there appeared to be several dozen counter-protesters carrying anti-Walker signs and chanting “liar” during speeches. A few arguments flared from time to time, but police reported no arrests.
