“Wake up, Wisconsin! Recover your history and your legacy. Become, once again, the state others aspire to equal. Don’t keep aiming to be number fifty out of fifty for taxes, regulations, education, infrastructure and everything else that matters. Some of these are things that matter much more to all of us, no matter how we vote, than individually trivial tax cuts. Our forefathers who built Wisconsin understood that. How have we lost their vision? How much further do we want to decline? For me, it is inconsequential. I probably won’t live long enough to find out. But for those of you who are planning to live here, raise families here and have a career here, it really matters.”
