Grothman, a state senator from Campbellsport, said he was “shocked” that Leibham, a state senator from Sheboygan, reported a $5,000 campaign contribution from the Laborers’ International Union of North America Political Action Committee. On its website the union describes itself as the “most progressive, aggressive and fastest-growing union of construction workers, and one of the most diverse and effective unions representing public service employees.”
