“I have felt stuck at times because I realized that the Republican Party was sort of stuck. They were victims of their own success during the last redistricting, where they won supermajorities in many districts and they elected people who were true believers that, not only should they have limited government, but there should be little or no government. And they really came to Washington, D.C., with a goal of bringing the government down.”
